Vientiane , the capital of Lao PDR:

Located on a curve of the Mekong River and total area 3,920 square kilometers with population 610,000. 09 . In 1563, King Setthathirat made Vientiane, and has become a capital since then, The most important and interesting places to visit is Wat (temple) as follow:

Horprakeo ( Emerald Buddha )
This building, originally built in 1565 as a personal place of worship for King Sayasetthathirath, housed the Emerald Buddha (Prakeo) before it was taken to Bangkok by the Siamese in the 19th century. Today it is a museum, which holds one of the most extensive collections of Buddhist artifacts in the country.

VatSisaket
Built in 1818 by King Anouvong and having survived the attacks by the Siamese, this is the oldest standing temple in Vientiane. It is also one of the oldest monasteries in the country and houses many important documents and treasures, including 6.840 Buddha images.

Talatsao(MorningMarket)
Consisting of three main buildings located in the centre of town on LaneXang Avenue opposite the post office and central bus station, this extensive market carries mostly durable goods, ranging from Lao handicrafts, textiles and jewelry to imported household appliances

Thatluang stupa:
contain relics of the Lord Buddha himself and is the country's This sputa, built in 1566 by King Saysetthathirath, is said to most cherished religious monument. Laos largest Buddhist festival of the year is held here on the full moon of the 12th month of the Buddhist calendar.

Patuxay(VictoryGate)
Centrally located on LaneXangAvenue , this monument was built in the 1960sto commemorate those who died in past wars. The monument was modeled after the Arc de Triumph in Paris, yet retains its Laotian identity with traditional decorative motifs. Climb to the top for a panoramic view of the city.

Xiengkhuan Buddha Park
park, conceived in 1958 under the direction of Luang Pu Bunleua Sulilat, a Laotian monk, hosts a collection of larger-than-life sculptures that merge Buddhist and Hindu traditions. The park is located roughly 24 km south of Vientiane, across from the town of NongKhai (Thailand) where Bunleua later erected a similar pantheon of sculptures

Vientiane Province:

Vangvieng district is situated 152 kilometers from Vientiane on Route 13th north. This small village is set against a backdrop of dramatic Limestone Mountains. It is surrounded by green lush paddy fields endwellings of ethnic minorities. Vangvieng is an ideal place to break the long journey from Vientiane to LuangPrabang as places in the town area:

Thamjang cave:
It is the most interesting place in the Vangvieng and inside the cave is full of its beautiful stalactite.

Rafting:
Taking a raft along the small Namxong  river is the perfect little trip for excitement on the river, and also riding bicycle around the small village.

Xiengkhouang Province:

Located 435 kilometers northeast of the Vientiane capital. Most of its landscape consist of mountains and hills.XiengKhouang offers the awesome beauty of high green mountains and rugged karsts formations as picture below:

The mystery plain of jars:
The main attraction in Xieng Khouang Province is the mystery Plain of Jars situated about 12 kilometers from downtown. Stone jars of different sizes, apparently carved out of solid rocks, are scattered all over the plateau. Researchers have advanced different theories as to the function of the stone jars, which are estimated to be 2,500 to 3,000 years old.

The hot water spring:
Approximately 52 kilometers north of the provincial capital of Phonsavanh in Muong Kham District there is a natural mineral hot water spring in a beautiful wooded area. Some people believe the water from the springs has magical properties to cures skin diseases. Visitors can enjoy a bath in natural hot spring however they should remain careful as temperatures can reach as high as 60 degrees Celsius.

Luang Prabang Province:

Luang Prabang is, located in the north 360 km from Vientiane capital, the ancient capital city of the Laos. Luang Prabang is rich in cultural heritage, and is known as the seat of Lao culture, with monasteries, monuments traditional costumes and surrounded by many types of nature's beauty. It is one of two World Heritage Sites in Laos named by UNESCO places to visit as follow:

Watxiengthong
Built during the16th century by King Saysettha. This temple is one of the most interesting examples of art and Buddhist architecture. It is well worth visiting and paying your respects to this temple while in Luang Prabang. The intricate golden facades, colorful murals, glass mosaics and unique three-layered roof make this one of the most beautiful temples in Asia.

National Museum
The former Royal Palace, which was constructed between 1904 to 1909 during the reign of King Sisavangvong, has now been converted into the National Museum. A collection of personal artifacts belonging to the former Royal Family.

WatThatChomsiTemple
Located at the top of Mount Phou Si in the heart of the town, The delightful sputa built in 1804 during the reign of King Anourouth. This temple has become a symbol of Luang Prabang's spiritual significance to Lao.

Tadkuangsi waterfall.
This impressive waterfall is located about 28 kilometers south of Luang Prabang. Several villages inhabited by people from ethnic minorities can be visited along the way to the waterfall. The scenery on the way to Tad Kuangsi is beautiful featuring fresh air, flowers and wild animals. Other interesting place is Thamting cave.

Champasack Province:

Champasack lies to the Southwest in Laos. The capital city is Pakse, located at the confluence of the Mekong and the Sedon rivers. In this province you will find The biggest Konphapheng water fall in southeast Asia, Four thousand Islands and ancient temples which were influenced from the Angkor people who settled in Cambodia. There are many different minorities in Champasack who have their own languages, cultures and lifestyles. The distance from Vientiane to Pakse is 610 kilometers by Route 13th south via the provinces of Bolikhamxay, Khammouane, Savannakhet and Salavan. The place to visit as follow:

The stone watpou temple:
Watphou temple complex is one of Southeast Asia's best examples of both early and classic Khmer architecture dating from the 7th to 12th centuries. This UNESCO World Heritage Site includes the ancient city of Shestrapura and many little known but interesting archeological sites along the banks of the Mekong River. There are also many fine examples of traditional Lao homes and buildings from the colonial period.

Mekong Island & Dolphins:
South of Pakse is Khong Island or Siphandon in Lao. This area of extra ordinary beauty is known for its fine food-especially fish dishes-distinct temple architecture and warm hospitality. On DonDet and DonKhon, remnants of an early 20th century railway and steamship port can be visited. At the Lao-Cambodia border can observe the freshwater dolphins that inhabit this section of the Mekong.

KhonePhapheng
By volume the largest waterfall in Southeast Asia, thundering Khone Phapheng is one of the most inspiring and popular attractions in the province. Among the waterfall's many channels and rocky outcrops visitors can see local people using traditional fishing techniques. Li Phi, just north of Khone Phapheng, is another amazing natural site that is best seen during the months of December-March when the cascade's clear waters are tinted emerald green. Food and beverage facilities are available at both sites.

Bolaven.Plateau:
Rising over 1.500m above sea level. The rich volcanic soils  and cool climate  of the Bolaven Plateau produce some of he finest Arabica coffees in the world. The town of Pakxong is a base for day trips from Pakse 30 km to the region's coffee and tea plantations, as well as the spectacular XeKatamtok Waterfall.     On the way to Pakxong stop at the Tadfane Resort at km 38 for breath taking  views of the Tadfane Waterfall located on the edge of DongHouasao.

Riding village elephants:
Kiat Ngong is an ideal small village to stop to ride an elephant about 2h to PhouAsa archaeological site on the way to Khonphapheng water fall about 48 km from down town , Pakse.
